Default Removing HVAC blower on '91 Accord

On my '91 Accord do I really have to remove the air conditioner control unit in order to get the HVAC blower housing out?

The connectors under the ac control unit are brutal to get to...

Thanks.

Default RE: Removing HVAC blower on '91 Accord

No, you have to remove the glove box and cross brace, about 5-6 nuts connecting the blower housing to the firewall (ratchet screwdriver w/ flex extension is real handy for these), release the nuts retaining the ECU/TCU housing and rotate to vertical (towards center of car), remove band that seals blower housing to the evaporator housing, and remove the blower housing. Housing will not come straight out as pictured in manual. I seem to remember rotating the housing top towards the front of car about 90 degs. to remove. Some electrical connections to release, but that's about it. Installation is straight reversal of removal.

Download the 91 Accord Shop Manual from hondahookup.com or order a manual online. It will pay for itself on this job.

good luck
