Replace engine oil after 887 miles?
I have a 2011 Honda Accord LX Sedan, automatic, 4 cylinder engine.
Had the oil changed by the dealer on 3/21/15, mileage was 30,838. Today, the A maintenance reminder came on with oil life of 15%. Mileage today is 31,725. I have driven 887 miles and it's asking me to replace the engine oil already? I have not changed my driving pattern or places I drive to. It's all city driving. My next oil change is scheduled for 35,838.
Can I ignore it or should I question the dealer service center?
thank you for any insight.

They may have forgot to reset the Maintenance Minder. You can do it yourself if you want; instructions to reset are in owner's manual. Otherwise, you can ask them about it.

Replace engine oil after 887 miles?
Thank you shipo and redbull-1! I took your advice, called the dealer and the person I spoke to told me there might be a leak. When I ask, is it possible that they maintenance reminder didn't get reset, I was asked if it was on when I brought it in for oil change. When I responded as no it wasn't, then I got the that could be it, bring it in and we'll reset it for you. Perhaps, I'll reset it myself.

Leak from a maintenance reminder!? They are lying. It doesn't monitor oil pressure. It simply goes by mileage.

It doesn't simply go by mileage. The system counts down oil life based on engine operating conditions (both normal and severe). If the engine runs at higher temperatures and rpm, or at low temperatures during short trips, the oil life will deplete faster than an engine running under more normal conditions.
Refer to the thread I included previously.

x2 what Redbull said, it's a lot more then simply mileage. I've also seen much longer intervals after long steady highway cruising (like 500 miles to visit my brother).
But it doesn't measure anything physical about the oil. No onboard chemical analysis. It has no way of measuring whether your oil has leaked out. It has no way of measuring whether you put water in the crankcase instead of oil. You still need to check the oil on the dipstick.
