Question Replaced my speed sensor and still having problems

hey everybody. I recently replaced the speed sensor in my 1994 Honda Accord LX coupe in my speedometer is still intermittently kicking in and out. What else could be causing my speedometer to still be doing this? i need to fix this soon because my mileage is becoming more and more inaccurate on the speedometer. thanks in advance for any help!

Do you have a Check Engine Light or D4 blinking? Get the code to confirm VSS remains as problem.

If VSS remains the problem, look for a connector or wiring fault causing the problem. It could also be a ECM fault, but code 17 would be set.

If no VSS code, is cruise control working? Cruise control working means VSS is OK.

If VSS is OK, then gauge panel fault is indicated. You will need to pull/repair the gauge panel (numerous services offered on www), or install a used part. A mileage adjustment is necessary in most states to avoid potential seller issues.

good luck

Autozone in most states will extract codes for free. Let us know what codes, for example P1234 and not a description of the code.

good luck

Hold on. You have a 94 accord, so you don't have the standardized OBD2 connector in your car. Your car is OBD1.

All you need to get the codes is a paperclip. Go to the common DIY thread on top of the gen tech help forum and open the link to checking engine codes to see how to do this.
