Replacing Timing Belt - What Else Should be Changed??
98 accord 90K miles - T-Belt never been changed.
Planning on getting a well deserved service on my car.
What else should be changed while the mechanic is in the area of the T-belt?
Planning having him do the following:
[ol][*]T-Belt[*]alt, ac & ps belts[*]Water Pump[/ol]
What else should I consider?
Is there some type of bearings/tensioners, valve gaskets, boot seals & misc that should be replaced?
Thanks in advance

The timing belt tensioners should be included in the t-belt change. Ask the mechanica if you don't know. The new water pump comes with a new gasket. As far as I know, theres nothing else that needs to be changed in that area, unless one of the gears is shot or something, highly unlikely.

Thanks Finch.
List below is what I will change:
1. Timing Belt
2. Balance shaft belt
3. All other drive belts
4. Water pump
5. Both tensioner’s
6. Cam, crank and aux shaft front seals
7. valve cover gasket set (including spark plug tube seals)
Am I missing anything else??
Is it best or worth to replace with factory honda parts??

Make sure they (or you) do the uppper AND lower plug tube seals. And since you have to remove the rocker assemblies to do the lower tubes it's a good idea to adjust the valves after putting it back together.
Other than that, that's pretty much it.
One other thingyou mightlook at is the motor mount since it has to come off anyway. Rarely does the left side mount go bad but it's worth inspecting while it's apart.

Cam seal, Crank seal, Countershaft seal, Oil pump seal, Water pump, Counter balance belt, Timing belt, Alternator belt, P/S belt.
Now can someone tell me the reason for pulling the valve cover off?
Flatrate doesn't pay for extra work.
All you have to do is loosen it and raise it 1/4" so you can slip the top timing cover out.

Ijust figured since he's asking what other stuff we could suggest; & replacing the valve cover has already been suggested. I thought the valve lash was called forsomewhere nearthe 100k mile point.

Most techs are not going to change the tensioners normally. They just spin them and check to make sure they are ok. Tensioners do not go out very often.
But I do understand you may want them changed anyway. But keep in mind, there may be an extra charge for it.

i agree with the above post. I replaced the same parts and seals on my accord (including both tensioners). It might be a few extra dollars but certainly worth. I would stick to genuine honda parts.
I bought my parts on ebay from a honda dealer. See the following link ...i think these are the guys i bought from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...spagenameZWDVW
You might want to check your application but just search ebay for "honda accord timing belt kit"
