Default Risks of adding performance...

I am wondering if by adding such things as a cold air intake, exhaust and headers will add too much stress to my engine and cause me more problems than good? If so is there anything i should do before starting my upgrades?? I have heard that replacing the complete set of head gaskets can be a good idea, anyone have expieience?? Answer one or answer all, thanks.

The only stress to the engine would be if you drove it like a madman after the modifications were done. Seeing as how it's going on 11 years old make sure the engine is in top shape before spending any money on mods that could better be spent elsewhere. If thereare no problems with the head gasket there shouldn't be any reason to replace it.

If you were talking about nitrous injection then yes, it stresses and engine. Simple intake and exhaust mods don't.
