Default Rough Idle/car stops.

Rough Idle/car stops. I have a 2000 accord v6 coupe that will shut off completely if I don’t rev the engine. This is an intermitted problem and not sure if it’s bad gas related or a engine problem. I took it to the dealer once and they didn’t find anything wrong. It’s been happing more frequently over the past few days. The dealer suggested adding more dry gas and trying different gas station. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi mbliss...
Here is an answer for you on that problem.....
#1 Idel speed incorrect
#2 Faulty spark plug wires (check for cracked wires)
#3 Incorrect gapped spark plugs
#4 Vacume leak in the fuel injector system, intake manifold or vacume hose leaks (combination of all three of these)
#5 Fuel filter clogged and / or water and impurities in the fuel system, this is one of the most frequent problems with that type of diagnose's.

How didi I do? Did I pass the test?
Any ways I hope I helped you out here...

Brilliant analysis poff....are you a professional Honda tech ?

mbliss....since your problem is intermittent, it's probably not a simple adjustment of your idle speed setting...did you already figure it out ? I realize your posting is several weeks old.
