RPM Counter in accord 98
hello HAF, presently i am using accord 98Lx, 4 cylinder, auto trans, 2.3L. Please i want to find out if i am driving between 100km/hr to 120km/hr on the highway what is my normal RPM counts? I am from Nigeria, although i don't speed much not more than 110km/hr on the highway. Now i have solve the problem of clunking sound by changing the c.v. Joint on the right side. I use my car three days in a week for distance of less than 3km from my house. How often in months can i change the engine oil and filter in this accord? hoping to hear from you guys Thanks

Regarding the engine RPMs at any given speed; does your car not have both a speedometer and a tachometer? If it does, what RPM indication does the tachometer show at the 100 and 120 kph speeds?
Regarding the oil changes; do you take any longer trips on a regular basis? I ask because frequent three kilometer trips will prevent the engine oil from warming up to "normal" operating temperature, a temperature which is necessary to allow water and light hydrocarbons (typically gasoline) to boil off. If you rarely get the oil up to operating temperature, then the accumulated contaminates will cause chemical reactions in the oil which forms acid; not good for your engine.
Long story short, if you use your car exclusively for three kilometer trips then I would change the oil every three months if you use conventional oil and six months if you use synthetic oil.
