RPMs
I have a 97 Honda Accord EX with about 165,xxx miles. When i step on the gas lightly, as it increases speed to about 40-45mph my rpms jump from 3 to about 3 1/2 & goes down to between 2-3. what can be causing this problem?
also, the gas pedal is a little tight, i have another 97 accord SE & the gas pedal ismuchlighterthan this one. Is there a way to fix this?
any help is appreciated
thanks in advance

is this an auto or manual? can you hear the engine increase in RPM's with the guage? if so it sounds like a slipping tranny to me....

If the tranny is slipping, need to replace right?

RE: RPMs
Did you do wire splicing or fabricate an adapter harness between existing radio connector and new radio? If the former, you may have accidentially spliced into the wrong wire for power. That's why the adapters are a good idea.
Short blue, 2-wire service check connector under the glove box dash, turn keyswitch ON, and read ABS code from flashing ABS light. All short flashes-f, pauses-p (code 4-1 = ffff-p-f). If multiple codes, long pauses between codes.
good luck

i bought one of those adapters & just matched the wire colors. 1 of the fuses got messed up & i replaced it but when i initially turned on the car to ck the stereo the ABS light had come on.
is that the only way to get the abs codes?

The weird thing i've been noticing is that i will only have that problem with the RPM's when cold, once its warm it ****fts much better.
I saw a Lucas transmission fix, has anybody tried it? will it work?
