Also I have noticed at times just when I'm about to accelerate (again while at highway speeds) it quickly lurches again. It's very frustating as the car upshifts and downshifts in every other gear perfectly.

The fluid level is fine and the right color and it was changed 15K ago. This started happening about 8K ago. I am the second owner bought in 2000.

Any assistance or direction would be much appreciated...Thanks

sounds like the torque converter lock up clutch is going bad.

Probably dumb one but here's a question....If I'm on my back looking up under the glove box how is it possible to see the D4 on the center console? Does it just cycle and continues to spit out the same code over and over. If so how do you know when it begins?...Dumb or what?? Please explain without rheeming me out to much.....

Thank you gentlemen. After your response I will begin the process and report back with my findings...,.I really appreciate your assistance.

Once you put the paperclip in you sit in the drivers seat and turn the key to the second position, at that point the D4 will start flashing, and yes it repeats the codes over and over
