Default Searched DIY But still Problems on 1993 Honda Acoord Door

[align=left]Here is the story......I went to the gas station. I tried to open the door and wont open. I tried to open the door from the inside and that wont open. So I searched and searched found some cheesey videos on you tube. about drilling the whole and taking a long stick and it will open. Well I have about 1 major huge hole and 2 little holes and I can't seem to get it the latch opened. So anyone maybe in the PEORIA IL area that can help me out would be greatly appreciated. Somebody please help. Thanks,
Brian

This forum isn't allowing us to post sometimes. Go to temporary search thread on top of this forum and open google link in there. Search drill door latch. You should get two hits. 2nd hit has a link that might give you some more info.

This is strange, I can post text, but not links. I live in Champaign, but I never had to do this on my accord. That techauto site is probably the youtube video you saw. You may be able to take off the door panel to access the latch.

My understanding is that door panel removal is possible w/ the seat removed. Very difficult job. My sympathies.

good luck

Ok I have had the door panel off. I am feeling a lever and pushing on it and nothing. This door will not open. Yes I have watched the videos and still nothing. I prolly have 8 holes drilled now. [:@]

So maybe someone call tell me a different route. Thanks,
I do appreciate it.

OK this thing just wont open. I have about 15 holes drilled. I believe I am pushing on the lever and the door is just not opening. What are my options at this point. Anyone around Peoria or wherever can help me out. Thanks,
Brian

A body shop might be able to get it open. I'm sure they deal with door latches that are broken from accidents all the time.

A tow truck place might be able to get it to unlock. A Honda dealership might be able to get it to unlock.

I would call these places to ask what they would charge to do the work.

Did you ever figure out how to get the door latch opened?
