Default Serious Problems, need advice.

2002 Honda Accord EX

Yesterday I went in to Kost Tire & Muffler shop for an oil change and to replace a bad bearing on the front left wheel.

When I got the car back, my ABS and Traction Control lights were on. I slammed on the brakes and was greeted with screeching tires confirming that my ABS isn't working. I also confirmed that the traction control isn't working either.

I went back to the shop and they took a look at it. They couldn't figure out what the problem is and suggested I take it to a dealer.

WTF???

Now I'm pissed.

I called my bank (Wachovia) and they were less than helpful as far as stopping payment.

So what the hell am I supposed to do now?

I'm going to have to take the car to a dealership, probably get raped for the cost of repairs and have to fight with Kost to reimburse me.

Like most people I know right now, I don't have the cash for this. The economy SUCKS, and it's right before the expensive Christmas season...

Anyone have any advice?

1. Tell us what you are driving. You could be driving a go kart for all I know

2. Pulling the codes from the ABS might help.

3. They may have simply not connected the sensors after putting the new bearing in.

It's not a serious issue, I drive with no traction control or ABS on my 99 in the snow and it's fine.

As stated above, it's a 2002 Accord EX.

It's serious enough because it's their fault, not mine.

They checked the connections, etc.

Well I would take it up with their management. Tell them you want a full refund of the labor or they can pay to fix it, since it worked when you brought it in. Threaten legal action.

I agree it's serious because they broke it, but I meant not serious for driving.

Sorry I didn't scroll up all the way and see the car model... my bad.

The Kost shop is going to personally take my car to a Honda dealership for diagnosistomorrow...

But I still have a feeling that they're going to try to get out of fixing the problem somehow.
