Service Bulletin S03-062 - Seat Belt Slow to Retract
The driver's side seat belt doesn't always retract fully. At times, I need to pull the belt out fully, and then retract slowly while holding the belt.
I was able to locate Service Bulletin S03-062, dated September 16, 2003, which appears to have a fix involving cleaning the upper seat belt loop with isopropyl alcohol.
Has anybody tried this?
Also, how do you determine which bulletins apply to your model, in my case a 1996 Accord Coupe.
BTW, I tried to attach the bulletin, but the pdf file is too large.

You can try cleaning, but I seiously doubt that will make much difference. The opening is quite a bit larger than the belt and there is just not that much friction. Yes, belt is somewhat dirty w/ age, but I don't think that is a problem.
I live w/ slow return rate and have to guide it back into place.
I would suspect the bearing needs lubing for the belt storage roller.
good luck

I kind of figured the problem had more to do with the mechanism than the belt itself.
Is the belt storage roller the mechanism inside the back door panel?
