snapped trunk release cable .. please help
hi all
I accidently snapped the trunk release cable .. please dont ask me how ..i'm still knocking onmy headabout this:(:(..anyway, the cable was snapped righton the tab under the driver seat where wepullto release the trunkor press toget to the gas tank. I cant open my trunk and I had to take out the lock so i can have access to the gas tank. Does anyone know how to replace or install a newcable please... pleasehelp.. [&:][&:] |

My 94EX manual has the following procedure. Yours is probably similar.
Remove following: 1) rear seat 2) Front & rear door sill mouldings 3) center pillar lower trim 4) Pull carpet back as necessary to expose cable 5) Left gusset cover and spare tire lid 6) Left side trunk panel and rear trunk trim panel Reinstall new cable replacing old cable. You may need some new fasteners, unless you're careful removing old cable fasteners. I would suggest purchasing the Honda Shop Manual for your model to assist unless someone has a model specific procedure. good luck |

Those procedures should be pretty similar to your vehicle.... if you just want to get the trunk open for now then remove some the release so you can see the cable and grab it with a pair of pliars and pull....
