I'm old school, as I am not entirely comfortable with the maintenance minder. Many people will go by the maintenance minder and it suppose to be pretty good. My preference is to change my oil every 7,500 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic. (I don't mind spending a little more for maintenance for my own peace of mind.) If I went by the maintenance minder, my oil change interval would be approximately 10,000 miles. I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic for many years. I put 150,000 miles on a 89 CRX Si, 300,000 on a 95 Accord, and 74,000 miles on my 2009 Accord with it. I even used it on my VW GTI prior to that. But to be honest, I feel with proper maintenance, it usually isn't the engine that will wear out first on a Honda.

For your car, I recommend asking the dealer to add the passenger lower dashboard cover under warranty. The blower noise was noticeable to me even when the car was new, especially when I was driving at night. When they finally had a TSB on it, I had them add it and it made a big difference to me. Just state the blower noise bothers you.

While I haven't had the opportunity to bring my 09 Accord cpe in to have this investigated, I also am hearing a spring-pop while turning the steering wheel. I mentioned it to them last time and the service advisor had not heard of that happening before. I am glad I checked here. It turns out my Accord falls under the category of affected models... so this might help the mechanic to narrow down a source of the issue. Thanks for the information, redbull.

And FWIW, I agree with the idea of taking the TSB with a grain of salt. It is smart to keep oneself informed on known issues with your own make and model, but what you do with that information when a potential issue arises is what separates the "informed owner" from the "insufferable customer." In auto/medical terms, I believe it is called a "car-pochondriac."
