Spark Plug Tube Seal Question #76,558. :)
So I found the DIY article about the spark plug seals. I was having some other work done on my honda so I had my regular mechanic go ahead and change those out as I had the oil in the resivoir not on the spark portion of the plug. Well that was 8 months ago. I decided to check to see what it looked like in those plugs yesterday and was sickened to see about an inch of oil built up in each plug port.
Well, I soaked all the oil out and checked the seals and it appears as though my mechanic did do it right, but for some reason it's not working. They are in the right location seem to be installed correctly, but are not sealing 100%. I decided to get some high temp gasket maker and add that to the seals already there. It SEEMS to of worked, but it's only been 24 hours.
Did I just provide a temp fix to this or do you think this will work? I guess only time will tell. I have 180,000 miles on this car and I don't have the money to really invest a lot in it right now due to medical bills. Other than that oil in the plug wires, there is no other oil or any fluids leaking. I was amazed that this car was still even starting and running without any signs of distress. I sure love Hondas.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

RE: Spark Plug Tube Seal Question #76,558. :)
You need to advise what year and trim accord you have. Placed in signature is best.
On many of the Accord engines, there is another seal (oring) in the camshaft rocker arm assy that must be replaced. It requires removal of the rocker arms as an assy to access the seal. This is the F22B2 engine (at least in 1994 manual it is). This is likely source of your continued oil leak into the spark plug wells.
good luck

opps forgot to put that info in there. It is a 97 accord SE. 4 Banger automatic.
I did see that other seal but I guess that seemed to not make sense to me. How would that seal leak oil into the top of the spark plug tube? It's not getting any oil into the ignition portion of the plug(or at least not enought to show anything burning in my exhaust). so it would seem to my feeble mind it has to be the upper plugs. But I will admit I have just enough knowledge on the subject to be dangerous.
Thanks for the help.

I took another look, and was looking at incorrect seal in my 94 Accord manual. I could not find the orings underneath the rocker arm assy's. However, this issue was discussed earlier, and following thread shows the oring that is likely your problem. Note, I could not find this oring shown in 94 Accord shop manual, which should be same as yours.

RE: Spark Plug Tube Seal Question #76,558. :)
The lower seals are #19 in this picture. The seals you've replaced are up at the top, in thevalve cover. These O-rings are halfway down that hole. So they also leak onto the spark plug above the threads.
You have to remove the camshaft bearing caps, shown on the left side of the picture. You need to be sure you have the bolt tightening sequence & torque when you put the cam caps back on.
