Speaker bracket question
Okay, so in the back speaker sizes vary a little bit in 93 Accords. DX and LX's have 6 1/2"'s, and EX's have 6x9"'s. I have an LX, and I'd like to put 6x9"'s in the back. Its really just a matter of finding a 90-93 EX at my local junkyard and getting the 6x9 brackets, but I'd like to know if anyone here has some insight before I start searching.
I know someone that has swapped out the 6x9's in his EX for 6 1/2's and he had no problems. Of course, thats downsizing, while I'll be upsizing. I currently have 6 1/2 Power Fosgate speakers in the back, and I plan on putting Rockford Fosgate Power 6x9's in, and like everything by Fosgate, I'm sure they are a bit larger than normal 6x9's. Any forseeable issues?
One thing I just thought of is that the hole in the metal may not be large enough to accomadate a 6x9 over a 6 1/2, I am out of state on vacation however and cannot see if that will be a problem.

RE: Speaker bracket question
Very true. There is definitely enough space to widen the hole for 6x9's. Really the main issue with that is I really don't have to tools to cut into metal... I'd pretty much have to get a drill with a threading bit and sand it away. My brother may have the tools however. I plan on getting a 96-98 Civic EX within the next six months, and transfering my system and a few parts over, so this is just sort of a way of preparing, plus the speakers I want to get will be over twice as powerful as the ones I have now.

RE: Speaker bracket question
the other option which is easier without having tools on hand is to get a couple of little wooden blocks, secure them with self taping screws to the metal then screw the speakers into the wood blocks so they have room to travel up/down.... it's not the best way but it's better than northing if you can't get all the equipment to do it the right way
