94-97 accord speedo staying around 20mph, the speedo head is bad.

TO those saying the ecu could be the problem: WRONG!!!

sorry to bring this up after such a long time, but my 95 2.2L vtec does the same. it works some times and stops sometimes. it sticks at 20mph sometimes, then it works at 20 mph over sometimes. has anyone else whose had this problem have there ABS light on 24/7? mine stays on. my step father owns a car shop and the master tech that works there has owned a few and works on everything with wheels and things with out lol. anyway, he mentioned its the anti-lock brake sensor. he cant prove it cause we dont have a specific honda ABS computer. but he said hes about 80% sure. but i wanted to know if anyone else has had that problem fixed before i send it to honda to get the scan, but if yall recomend it i will. thanks for the advice, and again, sorry for such an old bump. i also have extremley hard shifts from 1st to 2nd, semi hard from 2nd to 3rd, and slightly from 3rd to 4th. i was told the abs sensor can mess with electronicly controled automatic shifters, and apparently the 95 body style had changed to a new elec. tranny, from the older styles. ( according to wikipedia)

Could be the spedo head or maybe a bad VSS (does the cruise work when this happens).

Get the codes for the ABS, jump the connector and count the ABS flashes.

Check the mounts and the throttle control cable going down to the trans to be sure it is properly adjusted.

Vehicle Speed Sensor. However, if the cruise is working while this is going on, hate to say it but the speedo head unit is the issue. There are posts showing how to repair- re-solder connections.
