Speedometer Off by 15 MPH
Hi guys, my girlfriend just got a 94 accord auto for free and it has some issues. I have fixed most of the issues, leaking radiator, brake lights always on, radiator fan always on.
The one issue I was wondering about was the speedometer was off by 15, anyone know what could be wrong or how to calibrate the gauge cluster?
the previous owner replaced the transmission (dont know what year it was from)
wheels and tires are stock size.

Any evidence the cluster was dismantled? It's pretty common to have similar damage to the gauges after installing glowing-backlight stuff over the gauges. Or if the prior owner ever removed the needle or ???

I don't know how to tell whether the pulse frequency from the VSS is supposed to be different for those different cars. But that's not something that's a common complaint while lots of people have swapped transmissions without mentioning that problem.
Wrong pulses from VSS wouldn't be a CONSTANT offset. It would be a percentage change. For example if it's off by 15 when you're driving 60, then it would be off by 7 when you're driving 30.
A constant offset would result from removing the speedometer needle then putting it back on wrong.
