SRS light on
#11
So, in closing, here was my outcome:
1997 Civic: codes consistently returned bad SRS control module. New ones were $650.00, but my shop worked with me to get one from a wrecking yard. Cost for that part was $100.00. First one was bad also, returning similar codes, found a second one and it worked fine. I did call Honda and they said no dice on the warranty. There was no mention of air bags in the warranty booklet and Honda said the SRS components are not covered in any form of extended warranty.
2000 Accord: code returned SRS fail related to drivers seat belt. Since this light had been on for some time (and I am unsure if I removed the seat) the shop reset the code and the light has yet to come on again.
So, I am good now and it between two cars, it only cost $160 to get the SRS lights off. It really helped hearing the advice I got from here, so thanks again.
