Unhappy SRS Partial reset

Hi,
I have just bought a 1995 Honda Accord Wagon. I realized after I got the car that the SRS light is on all the time. On the next day I got laid off from work and cant afford to take it to the dealer. The methods that are shown in Youtube and this forum helped me find the location of the MES connector and try reset the SRS light. I used a paper clip and put it into the MES connector (yellow with grey wires) and turned on the ignition. The SRS light went off in 6 seconds and then I removed the paper clip. The SRS light came back on. I put the paper clip back in less then 4 seconds. The SRS light remained light. What should I do how can I find the source of the problem. I have a lot of background in repairing electrical and automotive devices. Please give me a detailed info. I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Short the service connector like you would to check for engine computer codes. Just count the SRS light flashes and post those code(s) on here.

Hi,
do you mean the connector that I use to hook up a portable code reader on? Which pins should I short to read the codes. And what is the procedure in starting this process?
Thanks.

I didn't think the 95 wagon had the obd2 connector behind the ash tray. There is a two-pin connector under the glove box that you short like you did to reset that light.

Just count the SRS flashes.

I will look for the blue connector and try to get the codes. This might take me a bit of time. Thanks.

Hi,
I found the blue connector under the glove compartment and I jumped it with a paper clip. After that, I turned the ignition on to position II all the normal lights came on but it did not blink the codes. I tried this several times by turning the ignition off for at least 30 seconds but no codes blinked on the SRS or other lights. After that, I retried the yellow MES connector to see if for any reason it might work. It did not. It does the same thing. I put the jumper on it and turn on the ignition. The SRS is on and goes off in 6 seconds. Then I unplug the jumper within 4 seconds after the SRS is off. The SRS comes on. I plug in the jumper within the SRS being on in 4 seconds but it does not go off.

Thanks,
HondaPerson

Just want to make sure that you are doing the SRS reset properly. The shop manual says that the wire colors should both be grey, or one black and one white wire.

Hi,
I checked the color of the wires on the yellow connector. They are both grey. The connector was plugged into a dummy mating connector above the left knee on the drivers side.
