Steering sounds..
I have 91 Honda Accord LX 4-door automatic and my car is making popping sounds whenever I turn my steering wheel while driving to the right (sometimes on the left side also). I don't think the sound is coming from the steering wheel components itself, but I can clearly hear sounds whenever steering to the right on a slant road. Can anyone help me trace what's the problem? Is it coming from CV joints or from any of the components
in the steering wheel line?
thanks in advance,

Looks like this;
With the front end up off the ground you put the pry bar between the lower arm and ball joint 'knuckle' to wiggle it and check for slack,

Hi,
Thanks again. I was reading over the net regarding these CLICK sounds while steering to the sides and from what I've understand, this could be problem in the CV joint/boot and leaving it could affect the joint as well as axle and sometimes could be dangerous of the wheel coming apart. Do you think it is time for me to get a new CV Axle shaft?
If so, do I have to replace bot the axles or only the one on the right could be sufficient?(Since I am hearing CLICKing sounds in the right only)?
thanks

Gotta figure out which one is making the noise (balljoint vs CV joint). Seems to me that a broken balljoint is more likely to lead to a wheel "falling off" since the balljoints actually hold the steering knuckle in position.
Do what the dude suggests to check out ball joints. If you can rule out a bad balljoint then go on to inspect the axles (CV joints).

Hi,
We are trying to remove the spindle nut(guess the size is 36mm) to open the axle and to replace CV axles. It seems the spindle nut is so tight that we have broken couple of our breaker bars. We are also using a pole on top of the breaker bar and the spindle wouldn't budge even after standing my own weight on top of it.
Any suggestions on how to get the nut removed? By the way we have unstaked the little dimple in the nut.
thanks
