Default stering wheel

Ok i have a honda accord 97 SE and i would like to change the stering wheel. But the stering wheels i have been checking online do not have air bag compartment. So my question is: If i buy one of the stering wheel online do i have to get rid of the air bag wiring?? If not, it is then fine to buy the new one and just bolt it on??

I would get rid of the wiring to make it look better, but you dont have to get rid of it, you will get a SRS light either way. If you wanted to keep the airbag you could just get a S2000 wheel and put it on.

True, S2000 wheel would word, only an AP1 wheel though, the AP2 wheel has a dual stage airbag that you 97 can't deploy... Most Honda/Acura wheels will work like a DC5 Integra wheel and what not.

Finch just be aware that 94-95 and 96-97 accord have different splines on the column. Pretty much any 96+ Honda steering wheel is interchangeable. (although there have been some rare cases where a 95 has had the splines of a 96-97)

Saw a Euro R Accord wheel(made by MOMO) on ebay...........guy wanted like $500 though.
