i cant have a car there till junior year, that and my school isnt in the nicest neighborhood

I have heard that New Haven isn't the nicest of areas.

Did you tell your parents that your car gets better gas mileage than theirs, presumably? That would be a selling point in getting them to drive it more.

I know around here in Illinois that only Freshman can't have cars if they live on campus. Just park it off campus (bad scary idea though).

yeah even once i can bring a car i'm prob going to buy a $800 POS, the key is to have a car that no one wants lol

at my school incoming freshman have a 15% chance of being allowed to take their cars to school. They give all the slots to seniors and juniors first, then have a lottery for the rest. plus a permit is about $240, and thats about half of my checking account right there.

That is sad that you have to part from your car for 6 months. When I parked my Accord for 7 days I jumped in it as soon as I got the chance.

Alekat's advice is good and so do others.

Hey Angelo, its been a ... um... a COUPLE years since you & I went to school, huh?

Both my kids were commuter students at college, but I know they had no-car rules for resident freshmen.
