careful with those honda filters some are made by Fram and suck *****. honestly as far as oil filters go, Wal Mart filters are made my champion industries. WIX and Mobil 1 filters are also very good to use.

Drummer. What is wrong with Fram Filters except for the increadible price? How long have you been using Walmart oil and filters and how many miles do you have to show for it? I have an old 89 Nissan p/u z-24 engine with 325k that has only used Castroil 10-w-30 and whatever filter was cheapest... I am all for the cheapest stuff if it works. Castroil is WAY too expensive but I still use it...

Will be converting to Amsoil 5w 30, Amsoil filter and K&N air filter sometime next week.
I've done the research and feel Amsoil is the best synthetic oil out there.

Fram filters have the most shoddy construction of any oil filter, its all glue and paper. there are several websites that have done tests, but you could also crack one open yourself and see. walmart filters are manufactured by champion labs the same company that manufactures WIX and purolator filters which have better construction and filter media.

Now, that being said....I have a 1992 Accord LX with 197,463 miles on it, when I bought the car it had 143k on it. half the time I used Castrol and was totally brand loyal to it. then after joining this forum and subsequently doing my own research find out that Wal-Mart supertech oil is just as good as what Castrol is, it all does the same thing. so I have now been running Supertech 10w-30 with supertech filter for Oh say 55k and the oil comes out cleaner and lasts just as long as Castrol. hows the weather down there in Summerville?

Thanks, I'm sold. I am so tired of walking out of AutoZone with a $17.00 oil and filter charge. Summerville's weather is getting right for softball!!! My arm is going to HURTING after tomorrow!!!

That might be the way to go. I drive 150 miles round trip 4 days a week. I work near Orangeburg. My wife grew up in Greenville. Do you know any Harts? Greenville is beautiful.

its ok I prefer Atlanta. Dont know any Harts. synthetic might be a good choice then if you dont have any kind of leaks. esp if its primarily highway miles, that will help the general running of the car.
