Temp high & fans not working
#11
Update:
I got my fan motors from AutoZone. The cond fan motor was $50. But we has issues with the rad fan motor (passengerside). We went through 4 different ones thinking the motors were miss-boxed etc. As it turned out, the rad fan motor was a 1999. This motor was $100 (got a $10 off due running back several times while they had them delivered to store). My Accord was manufactured 10/99.
The fan motor assemblies were easy to take out. The driver's side has two bolts on top & 1 bolt on the bottom (shield is sloted on the bottom bolt). The fan shroud on the passengerside has two bolts on the top & the bottom off the shield has dowels that go into mounts (just lift out). You do have to remove the upper rad hose off the rad to lift up & out.
Thanks my friends, this place saved me! The cost difference on the rad fan, I could have bought 2 motors from AutoZone & a carton of cigs compared to what Honda wanted...the parts guy at Honda said to look for after market.
Also....glad to know where the "coolant bleeder valve" was......I had some air there after 2 cycles running the car @ idle & then letting cool off.
Again thanks. Hope this may help the next.
