Timing belt

all accords 4 cyl up to 2002 ( included ) the crank pulley is on the driver side , when running, the engine turns toward frt of car , if you put a braker bar to ground you will be tightening the bolt
so you cannot tell us that you have used that system to loosen the crank bolt up on a 4 cyl accord ,, Unless it was a v6 engine and there was no v6 in 93 and earlier

Im sorry Deserthonda I think you miss read. I didnt say that I had done or do that. I was just asking what he Jim was talking about. I was kinda lost but get it know.
So I wouldnt suggest and deffenetly shouldnt try it but has anyone else tried that method and would it work? I talking about propping up a braker bar and bumping it over.

When you loosen the belt tensioner with all timing marks aligned, are you then turning the crank slightly counter-clockwise to remove slack from the belt before tightening the tensioner bolt?
Have you just gotten this car with these problems or is there more to the story?
Have you checked for bent valves?
I just have a feeling that some information is missing .
FWIW, the breaker bar on the crank pulley bolt trick, is to use the cars weight and rock it Backwards until the end of the breaker bar hits the concrete.

Sumpump, it's just like Desert says. For a long time all Honda 4-cylinder engines spin the opposite way vs. almost all other car-engines. I've been told it comes from the traditional layout of motorcycle engines (Honda's ancestry).
Honda V-6 engines (1995+) were flipped around, so they spin the traditional automobile way.
Beginning with the K-series 4-cyl (2003 Accord) they flipped it around and made it spin the same way as other cars.
Somewhere around 2006 they did the same thing with the Civic - with the introduction of the R-series engine.
ALL of the crank pulley bolts are right-hand thread.
