Timing belt. whats this gonna run me?
2000 stock auto V6 accord. 112k miles. Never had a problem yet. Always treated like a baby. Mainly freeway miles. Taking it across country for about 2days total of 1800miles. I read you need to replace the Timing belt at 105k miles. I got an uncle there who can do it, but should I take the risk and drive that far if im over 7k past when its due? If not, whats this and a water pump gonna run me installed at a dealer/ or known mechanic shop like(goodyear,etc..) Thanks guys.

So another 900 miles before your uncle changes it? Id be inclined to go for it. But its a RISK,not a guarantee. The scary thing would be getting stranded with a hosed engine 400 miles from home & 500 miles from your uncle.
IFit breaks, the pistonscan hit thevalves, so its not simply a matter of finding a shop to replace the belt somewhere en-route. You might need a new engine.
