tranny swap
this is my first post on a forum so im not sure how this works but.....
i just bought my first car today. its a 91 honda accord ex.
i was doubting the car at first but relized i really like how if feels.
i really want to switch the auto tranny with a manual tranny. now the moter is a f22a4 and im wondering if i have to use the exact f22a4 tranny, or i can bolt on any f22 tranny or even any f-series tranny?

Any F series or H series trans will work.
I swapped mine.
even though you have a 4th gen it is basically the same

It is debated that some trans have slightly different gears in them but what is for sure is if you plan on a high HP turbo setup you will need to buy a H series with the LSD in it.
However they are expensive and not easy to find.

The H series M2B4 transmission is probably the best performance. Shorter gear ratios and an LSD. They are known for 5th gear grinds though.
Just putting this in with an F22 you could expect probably .7 second increase in the 1/4 or so.

Transmission doesnt matter for obd1/2.
You could check an engine importer like tiger japanese or honda engines online. The M2B4 was never in a car sold in America, so any here had to be imported.
You could get just a regular prelude transmission, but it wouldn't have an LSD. The code for these is M2S4.
