Transmission Control Unit 932 Part# Question
I have a 90 Accord EX. The TCU was flooded in Katrina and has to be replaced. The part# of the one I have now is 28100-PX4-932. I can only find the PX4-931 part which is off by one number. I am told that the 931 also is from a 90 EX.
Do the part numbers need to be an exact match to work? Why different numbers on a part that comes out of same model car? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Transmission Control Unit 932 Part# Question
Yes....that's the question. I need to know 100% before buying and installing a different # part.
Is this something that the dealer would know, and do they generally take time to give this info out on the telephone to honda owners that are not having the repairs done or purchasing the part from their dealership? I often wondered what their obligation is to do that "free advice" stuff over the phone when they are not receiving any direct income from it. Obviously if I ask them if part from a 91 will work on a 90 with a different part number, they will know that I am doing the repairs myself and not buying the proper part from them.

RE: Transmission Control Unit 932 Part# Question
PX4 means Japan Built. PX0 means USA built. 932 vs 931... yes they interchange.
The 3 (number before last) indicates EX models. Others, LX, DX, SE, will have a 2 or other number instead of 3. Been there done that. Go to car-Parts.com and check it out. Price range 50-80 bucks....dealership....700+ bucks. You may wanna look at ebay too and you may need an engine puter (next to tranny puter) too.
