Checked all the marks, im about 3/4 of a tooth off, so ill adjust to be 1/4 tooth off and see if I can get timing working so I dont have to fully advance dizzy to be slightly retarded.

May b if im lucky that will help at least.

Am I supposed to plug boost valve? It just sucks air, its the one hose that plugs into intake hose right before it reaches throttle body

Air boost is on the drivers end of tb.

Sounds more like you are talking about the PCV hose? Which can cause strange idle.

Got a pic of the tb with everything hooked up?

Ok, more to the story....must have missed the "aftermarket" air intake. Quick look at the vid and there are two points that have me concerned.

You said the timing belt is off by 3/4 of a tooth. That isn't possible. You are either dead on, or off by 1, 2, 3.... teeth.

Another thing you mentioned is that you installed an EX intake manifold on the engine. Your valve cover is for an LX/DX engine. Are you sure the EX manifold can be installed on your engine?

to poorman:

well i cant recall the name, but i have one of those filters that plugs into the crankcase, the vid doesnt really show it, but the intake blocked off with the metal hose was what was connecting all that, havent gotten around to removing since i cant figure out idle issue.
also, what is the function of the boost valve? is it supposed to suck air at all times?

pahonda:
the car came all like this, and all of the ex's ive seen at junkyards had this valve cover. also, it is a f22a6.

and what i mean by 3/4 tooth is when the piston is at tdc, through timing square window thing, the lines in the cam gear are about 3/4 of a tooth off, i cant get it perfect. after market belt is what i was thinkin. it does do some wobblin about.

thanks guys for the recall of thread, thought it got lost in abyss. anything you need from me, ill do my best.

Just so I'm clear, we are down to trying to get the idle speed down to "normal" - Correct?
