Default Under hood insulation-good or bad??

I've installed 3/4 in of foil backed foam insulation under my hood. The temp guage does not indicated over heating however when I pop the hood after a drive the engine seems very hot. Should the insulation be removed? I installed it in the first place to reduce noise but it wouldn't be worth frying the engine for.

What accord are we talking about here? Put that info in your signature, so we don't have to ask.

If the temp gauge is not going up, you should be ok.

I think that the EX accord had sound deadening pad to reduce noise (depending on the year). I am not sure if it acts as an insulator. That should depend on the material used.

My TSX has this feature as well.
