Default Update one accord reving at 3000 rpm =(

So, I have gone through 3 throttle body's, different headers, oxygen sensor, even another intake manifold. Guess what.... my accord is still not going over 3000 rpm =(

I need help guys, ASAP.... This car needs to get running soon, my daily driver is already giving out, could it be that the timing bely was not installed properly, or could it be my ignition coil, or the black thing on top of the throttle body...I have no idea what that is called. I am assuming this because it seems that these are the only things that I haven't changed on the car.

-Thanks, Eric

Have you just been randomly changing parts? Got a CEL? Read the error code number?

That thing on the TB is the throttle-position sensor (TPS).

Jim,

The TPS is on back of the throttle body. The sensor on top is the map sensor.

Your 96 accord has a plug behind the ashtray that the folks at autozone can read. Have them read the codes and post them on here. A code will start with the letter P then four numbers.

Is your check engine light on while driving? Is the D4 light blinking when driving?

D'oh... I knew that... honest. really...

TPS is on the end of the throttle shaft so it can see the rotation of the throttle butterfly.

CKP sensor is down at the crankshaft pulley. You cleaned it? Did you measure its resistance?

Not sure if this is accurate, but I don't think the car will run at all if the CKP sensor is bad. Are you sure it's not the Top Dead Sensor that is bad?

See my problem that I recently resolved:

Best of luck!

TDC sensor has it's own error code, 8. Not saying that ECU error codes are infallible, but... ?

With all the parts swapping did the connectors for the map and tps get swapped? I seem to remember that they will plug into each other and cause fun problems. I am not sure if it will even set a code since the computer is just looking for a voltage reading. How does it run up to 3000 rpm?

Honestly, I have the least amount of idea on how to measure the Resistance?

How do you ?
