Vibration on Acceleration

This may or may not have anything to do with the OP's 7th generation Accord. But, from what I can gather, it looks like Honda done away with the ABS tone ring (pulser) on the 8th generation Accords (2008-2012). It has a magnetic encoder incorporated into the wheel bearing. The ABS system uses sensors to pick up a signal from the magnetic encoder on the wheel bearing. (ABS is part of the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system on the 8th generation Accords.)
I have not been able to confirm whether the 7th generation Accords uses a similar system. I am not sure if the 7th generation Accords had the magnetic encoders incorporated into the wheel bearing too. If it did have the magnetic encoder incorporated into the wheel bearing , even if the axle on the 7th generation had an ABS tone ring on it, it may not serve any functional purpose.

From the O.E.
Wheel Sensors
The wheel sensors are the magnetic contactless type. The wheel sensors detect changing of magnetic polarity on the magnetic encoder contained inside the front wheel bearings. The ABS modulator-control unit calculates the wheel speed based on signals sent from the wheel sensor.
NOTE: The front wheel bearings are directional.

yup, picked the subject vehicle in ISIS, when i did mine i don't remember seeing the tone ring on the axle shaft and where the sensor is installed in the knuckle that leads me to believe the axles he got should be correct.

Thanks everyone. What a great forum.

I found the same thing with my daughter's 2007 Civic. Rear hub has no pulser ring like I expected. The magnetic sensor is positioned against the wheel bearing, so there must be some structure INSIDE the wheelbearing that acts like a pulser ring.
Seems like a good idea to keep the pulser clean...?

I had my mechanic replace the axles and all is good No more vibrations! Thanks to everyone in the forum for the help. For the record my total out of pocket was $200, $75 for the used axles off of ebay and $125 for the labor. I also have a extra set of axles I can either have rebuilt or use them as a core for next time.
