i cleaned the wires and everything. Still doesn't work. How do i go about getting at and removing the VSS? I'm still not quite sure where exactly this thing is even located. I know where the actual throttle is. Is this the throttle body? Also what does this VSS even look like? i'm really at a loss here. is it easy/hard to remove/install?

 

If you cleaned the connector to the VSS, then you should have found the VSS. It is held in by three bolts and is bolted to the transmission.

Go to the DIY section and open the spooner tuner link I posted. You can download a 94 shop manual as a pdf. It will have descriptive pictures and instructions that will help you out immensely.

i am in a real bind so i really have no choice but to go to autozone. that being said, i gave them the year make and model of my car... 1994 honda accord ex automatic 2dr coupe and they come up with 3 different VSS parts. I do not know which one to choose and i am still having trouble locating the VSS on my car. I see the throttle and i follow it down, but i can't quite make out what or where the VSS is located.

The VSS looks like the one from Pep Boys.

 

ok... and that's located on the throttle body correct, connected to the trans?

 

No, it's not ON the throttle body. I said it's below the throttlebody, but I meant down on the transmission about 12" below the TB. Even though you've got an automatic, the VSS is located in roughly the same location as the one on the manual tranny drawing I put in earlier in the thread.

 

It's "E6" in the picture.
It's way down below the throttle body. You will need long extensions on a socket to get to it. It should be in the same place as mine in my DIY VSS replacement thread:
