What kind of Transmission oil??
I have a 94 accord ex. 4 door 4 cylinder. lately the transmission is shifting hard so i just want to change the transmission oil, because i don't think that it has been done in a while. honda recommends i use Dexron II Automatic Transmissions/Transaxle Fluid (ATF) is there some other type of of trans. oil?
I heard that honda trans. oil is kinda exspensive...how much is it?...and is there some cheaper alternative that will work just as good as the one honda recommends?? Please reply fast.

You can easily find out the cost of the Honda fluid from the source.....call the dealer. This may be one of those times where it is best to use a Honda product instead of a substitute. Are you doing this yourself or having someone else do it?
Dealerships do this service daily and usually have a flat charge for it including the filter if your car requires one. Be aware that a drain and fill does not get all of the old fluid out which is why some folks do it again a month or so later.

RE: What kind of Transmission oil??
Hey there 94accordprobs
I'd recommend using the ATF tranny luid specifically for honda's i recently had to do my moms awhile ago back in the fall, it cost me about 120$ canadian so prolly....80-90$ go get it done but theres a huge difference in teh car now.... DO NOT use DEXRON, i took mine to penzoil to get done and they told em how they had a customer who did have DEXRON used and it messed there accord big time, just go get it done its cheap, and u wont have to do it again for awhile it helps the car run better

Also you could use Royal Purple Synthetic Fluid as well.
BUT, depending on mileage you have if its shifting hard, check the dipstick and see if the fluid looks dark and smells burnt... if it smells badly burnt you may not want to change it because it may cause more damage than good.

Ya get good quality fluid....honda's is good, but there are better....What kinda ATF crap did you put into it to have to flush it out? BTW did you remember to add the extra bottle to convert the Dextron to the Highly Modified Honda requires, if not that would have been your problem.
