Wheel bearings rear
Hello again Guys,
I'm in need of some advice, The rear wheel bearing on the drivers side (passenger outside of the UK) has failed on me,I have ordered a new one but as there is a bank holiday tomorrow, I wont get it until Tuesday, The problem is I have a 200 mile round trip to make tomorrow, and the bearing sounds terrible, is there any temp repairs I can make, I've tried tightening up the hub nut but no difference?

Just for your info, I have stripped down the hub and knocked out the 2 inner races of the bearings, cleaned out all of the old grease and packed it with new grease, I have also backed off the hub nut by about 5 degrees. It has made it a lot less noisy. hopefully untill the new part arrives,
Thought there might be a old mechanic out there that new a few tricks of the trade. e.g sawdust in the oil helps reduce the noise of the tappets. etc.... never mind...
Not that ive ever done that seen it on a Tv program years ago.... honest!
