Wierd squealing/chirping sound
Hi everyone. My 94Lx coupe is making a light squealing/chirping kind of sound. I'm thinking it's a belt, question is, which ones usually go out first? can anyone tell me? I know it's not the timing belt, because it was changed right before I bought it.

There are only two belts. PS is easiest to remove (outside) so check this first. Check PS pump for smooth rotation by hand w/ only small resistance.
If inside belt is source (AC-Alternator), suggest removing belt and spinning AC pulley. Any roughness or grinding would indicate a bad compressor clutch idler bearing. It should spin very smoothly w/ little resistance.
If compressor idler bearing is OK, then spin alternator for same test.
If alternator is smooth, then check the crankshaft pulley for looseness or slipping of the dampener bushing between outer pulley and inner pulley body. These can come loose and cause noise and other problems.
good luck
