Windows move slow
I see other threads about window motors but I wanted to start my own. I have a 97 Accord 4 door V6 98K miles. For the longest time the windows would roll up n down slow,I didn't care because they worked pretty good. I decided to replace the driver side motor assemble.
I got it at advance for 70 bucks, went in easy enough. The window STILL moves slow and I hear a clicking noise sometimes, but it is better then the original. I'm thinking this one is a defect. Could there be other problems that I'm not seeing??
Thanks Barry

Window may be binding or sticking in the window run channel. Try to see if window run channel is cut/gouged leading window to roll up loose bits and create a jam.
You can run window full down and clean the window run channel grooves w/ a toothbrush attached to stick. shinitsu grease is recommended lubricant in the run channel.
Run channel can be replaced. There was a recent post w/ a link to ericthecarguy youtube video on replacing the window run channel.
good luck

The window is still not working correctly. I tried alittle grease,no go. I haven't been back into the door to see whats happening. This new motor is worse the the original. I might buy two new tracks and warranty the window motor.
Could there be anything to look for? It seems straight forward but.....

Is this one of the new units or a reman? Im just asking because I have a broken window motor in the back door on the drivers/passenger side.I will be buying a new one soon, but was curious about the new vs reman.I think I will go with new, even if its aftermarket.(sorry Im not on topic and not having the slow problem you were having)

Our shop gets parts through Advance,I could of went to Honda but I didn't. This motor was 70.00 aftermarket,(Dorman) it came as one hole unit. After thinking about it last night I'm wondering if the window tint has something to do with it moving slowly. The tint was installed 17yrs ago right after we bought it new. Its limo tint, meaning its several layers on top of each other.
I don't remember that far back if the window got slower after the tint installation.
Believe it or not the tint hasn't needed to be replaced on the doors. What do you think??

What kind of grease did you try? Silicone paste works well, as does the shinitsu grease mentioned earlier.
The shop manual has a procedure to make sure the window is aligned in the tracks.
As for the tint, I have no clue. Does the tint stop before the glass goes into the run channel?
