99 Exhaust, Intake and Comp Fall Short!!!!
I installed a new exhaust and intake and lost power and MPG. Off the line is terrible compared to stock. Mileage went down from around 29 to 25. After a couple hundred miles I installed the piggyback computer with no change in performance. Checked for leaks, no codes and diagnostic checked fine. I feel the mileage drop is from having to work harder to get up to speed.
Any tips or ideas to help get my power back?
Components are listed in my sig and car has 160K with new timing belt and tranny flush 20K miles ago.
Thanks,
Gregg

you lost low end. That’s what happens with exhaust and intakes. But you gain in the upper of your power band. Also you have a auto and a v6...they aren’t the greatest for performance. Honda 4cyls walk the v6s all the time. Even know you might have 50-75hp more you have longer gears. 4cyls have shorter gears to put the power to the ground more efficiently. I honestly can't tell you too much on the honda v6's as I don't like them and have and never will own one. Unless it's a NSX.
Also thos piggy back “chips” are useless on Hondas. If you want to take advantage of your modifications you will need a chipped ecu that a tuner can tune. Since your obd2 I have no clue what your options are. I only play with obd1 set up’s
