a6 IM vs h23 IM
i have an F22a6 motor and have been thinking about modding the IM and TBs and one person tells me the a6 is just as good as the H23 IM and TB. im porting them both btw. also do you have to portmatch the a6 IM to get better flow even though its the stock IM. also i heard use a h23 TB and UIM and keep the a6 LIM. any suggestion and why. please dont just state ingnorant opinions i would like a little facts to back them up. thanks.

the h23 runners are longer so it holds more volume air and gains a few more ponies down low. The a6 has shorter runners. Yes you can bolt a h22/h23 plenum to a set of a6 runners. The H22/h23 plenum can hold more volume of air since it is bigger than the a6 plenum. Also the h22/h23 TB is bigger than the f22 TB's.
I would personally find a h23 intake manifold. Gut your IAB plate...port it out so you only have ports instead of 8 ports. Also find a second IAB plate and gut it and stack it…so you will be double stacked with the IAB plates. (this will create more volume inside the manifold) Then port match the TB and polish after if you wish. If you don't know what I mean by gutting the IAB plates and manifold search on cb7tuner.com or on Honda-tech.com you will find DIY write ups to get a good idea of what I'm talking about. Iv done my f22 and my h22 this way with the DIY method. Pretty easy just a lot of work.
Your question about port matching....yes it would be a good idea to port match a stock manifold. B/c they are not port matched from the factory.

okay so what your saying is stack my gutted iabs... now by gutted you mean, make the 8 ports on both of them one big port so my plenum has more volume.. then port match my a6 runners on both ends? will there be any idle issues or clearance issues.. my f22a6 is in the factory vehicle with stock pt6 ecu

when I say gutted I mean removing the butterflies from the IAB plate.
Cutting out the extra 4 ports would be porting the manifold.
You can port match from the TB to the head. But I was talking about just port matching your TB size to the inter diameter of the plenum where the TB bolts to. That will reduce allot of turbulence.
Now if you end up doing all this work to you intake manifold. I would suggest on getting a chipped ecu and getting a tune. I'm not sure how your idle will be on stock ecu. I have done this on my f22a and my h22a but I had them both tuned after. But if you go over to cb7tuner.com I'm sure you can get more input on your idle question. Lots of guys have done this type of work over on the forum.

I read that the a1 and a4 usually have idle issues but the pt6 ecu fixes it I guess ill find out myself but either way I'm gettin an ecu and tuned to get optimal hp outt all my mods.. Probably for with hondata s200 unless you have any other suggestions

talk to your tuner....The tuner might not like hondata and may prefer crome or vice versa ect. ect. ect.. Most of the time you can buy a chipped ecu from your tuner with the tuning software they the like to tune with.
If the tuner doesn’t like let’s say hondata but can tune it. You most likely won't get the same results as if you used the tuning software they normally tune with.
