Balance in backpressure

Balance in backpressure
So I know you want some back pressure for the best performance. When I put my silencer on, the throttle response of course is different, but I makes it easier to drive with a heavier load.
So what best for the back pressure? I have a catback exhaust with a performance 421 header.
