Headers give almost no HP gains at all.
If your stock manifold is in good shape their really is no reason to replace it.

I mainly wanna do it for a noise difference. I dont wanna do anything like deleting resonators or cats, but dont wanna throw a grand at a new exhaust

it depends on how your using the term "best value" To me the "best value" would be a Bisimoto header (btw you only have one header not "headers") It has the best cash to power ratio. For example the Bisi f22a header makes 26hp on a UNTUNED STOCK f22a engine. Also been proven to get even more with a tune. Now granite the header price starts at $800. But there is no 1 single modification that can produce that much power. So the cash to power ratio is killer.

If you have a 03 I believe you have a f23 engine. Not too much in performance wise for that engine. Not much aftermarket support. You can find cheap-o ebay header but don't expect much if any gain especially on a oem tune. Also don't expect the header to last long either. They use cheap thin metal and rust fast and gets holes.

Upgrading a header IMPO is not worth doing it unless your getting a custom header made. It pays to play. If you want noise just slap a fart can on your oem exhaust.

my f22a has over 200k on the clock. I beat on her every day. I just have simple bolt ons header full exhaust CAI. Still pulling strong. As long as you keep up with oil changes and trans "flush" (it's really drain and fill not flush but you get my point) your honda can last a long time. Even if it's has some mods done.

2 things I will tell you.
1. it pays to play don't cheap out
2.-
cheap
reliable
fast.........you can only have two of the three when upgrading parts.

So what about removing my resonator? Im worried it will sound really ricey if I do it. How would it sound if I got an aftermarket muffler and removed my resonators?

In my humble opinion if my wallet was a bit chunkier and my bank account a bit more pletherous, I would go with a uniform magnaflow exhaust system and probably a fujita intake with a good tuneable ecu possibly $5000 worth of goodies after the final whistle blew... or at least dc sports.. hey horse power aint cheap if you want your car to sound mean, disconnect the mufflers....
