This is what a bypass valve is and looks like on a CAI.

Thanks for the picture of the bypass valve....is there a site that can tell me how to put one in my CAI? I haven't installed the CAI yet, but I'm just trying to do some homework, so that when I install it, there will be no problems.

Thanks for the help!

I had to cut my CAI tube. Then it slides over the pipe and you tighten it down with hose clamps and your good to go. That all there is to it.

did you already buy a cold air intake?

You could just buy a short ram intake and avoid all the worry completely. The difference in HP gains will not even be remotely noticeable.

I actually notice a gain in the high end from the CAI vs. the short ram
Also since I’m running stock ECU it seems to burn the fuel much better and cleaner. When I rev up in high rpms my exhaust USE to have a faint raw gas smell now with the CAI I don't have the raw smell anymore b/c I’m getting more BURNABLE air. All air can be burnt/combusted it just depends how how FAST it's gonna be burnt/combusted that's the key. But when getting more volume you need a colder or dense air for a CLEANER and more POWERFULL combustion.

The air goes through the exact same place to get into the IM.

If you have a sri and left the oem baffle in the air goes exactly up the baffle and straight into the sri filter. The cai simply moves the filter to where the oem baffle is. Either way they are receiving the same temperature and volume of air.

If you want less hassle and no worry about hydrolock just get the sri.

WRONG. Cold air is more dense than hot air, so it contains more oxygen. It has nothing to do with combustability. It's the percentage of Oxygen in the air is greater if it is colder.

LMFAO!!!
Yes the more "dense" the air is makes it more combustible in the chamber. Means there is more air to expand when the temp. rises...which it's gonna do when being combusted. DUH! You just stated my exact point!

*edit*
...glad to see your doing your doing some research for yourself! *thumbs up* to you!

The oxygen is not combustable, the fuel is. 02 is just the oxidiser

lol air atomize the fuel...you have to have air for fuel to burn/combust simple as that.
Fire can't burn with without any oxygen it's imposable... facts of nature.

And since your mr. smarty pants why the hell are you asking a stupid question like "is aem any good?" It's like me asking "do cars move?" I mean come on man.
