Downpipe+CAT=:(
I drive a 02 accord ex 4 cyl and just finished the intake, new cam gear, new injectors and a few other goodies. But, wen i tried to unbolt my stock downpipe from my CAT in order to install new headers I discovered that not only are the bolts rusted and 100% stuck (tried leverage, WD-40 etc..,) but when i split the nuts with a nut splitter, the downpipe is physically rusted to the CAT. They are in effect, one peice. Any suggestions for separatingthe two?
Thanks

RE: Downpipe+CAT=:(
Hey man i had the exact same problem. lolall one piece, no real trace of a bolt there.i used a propane torch... did not work.. not hot enough.. PB blaster... did not work.. hammer, bar everthing at my disposal.. none of it worked.
I took mine to the local shop, Rainbow muffler they blew the blots off for $5 then i just had them lightly screw in the new ones so i cud get them off when i got back home.
