Downpipe and header questions...
hi!! well i have a question bout the downpipe and the header....
what does a downpipe look like?? i thought the downpipe was the 2nd piece on a two piece header...the one that is long and is going to the catalitic converter...but thats what i thought...
can someone here clear me with this please...cuz im thinking of buying a hi-flow catalitic converter...and what i want to do is whenever i buy that converter, i'll just go ahead and buy a header too...but i dont know bout the down pipe...if i need to buy that as well or if it comes with the header...
please clear me with this...thanks!!
btw..i got a 94' accord ex leather, F22B1

RE: Downpipe and header questions...
You are correct. The second half of the header is technically considered the downpipe.
I think ever header for the Accord is designed to fit the stock cat. So, you will need a cat that has a flange that is the same as stock, or get a universal high flow one and have the flanges welded on.

RE: Downpipe and header questions...
Good luck!
I think the 94+95 Accord only have an 02 sensor in the exhaust manifold (double check). The 96-97 also have one at the end of the cat, meaning we have to make sure their is a spot for it in hi-flows or to trick the 02 sensor

RE: Downpipe and header questions...
your link is a header for the 03-04 accord..what i have is a 1994 accord ex lther..dont think it will fit mine(F22B1)...
btw 19Accord97 thanks for your reply...anyways i dont know..i havnt checked yet but i will try to see over the weekend... so your saying that the 96-97 accords have the O2 sensor on the cat converter right? so if i have a 94 i wouldnt have any problem with that O2 sensor on the cat..
i dont remember seeing any holes for the O2 sensor on the OEM cat converter when i installed my exhaust system...i saw my cat converter..cuz i had to remove it too because i had trouble removing the bolts of the old exhaust system to to cat...
