Default Exhaust Leak Patches

Well I found out my header is leaking at the same flange previously (lower flange). I dont want to take it all apart again and had an idea. Will a exhaust leak kit fix the problem? I am assuming its a cloth like material with some sort of putty. I figured I could buy one or two of those and make a couple of layers wrapping around the flange in hopes of stopping the leak. They are only like 8 bucks or so. Whatca think?

I think it might work for a few weeks.... have you tried re-torquing the bolts to see if it helps?

I havent lately...I am assuming it is already to late.

Do you know of any other stronger exhaust leak fixers? I am just tempted to get the stupid flange welded together! But of course, knowing my luck the other gasket would blow and I would be screwed.

If one of the bolts backed out/loosened up it may work... it won't cause any more issues so it's worth a shot

Yeah, I'll def. try to tighten them back up, but I will probably add one of those kits and try it out. I dont want to spend another afternoon fixing it, but I may have to. I was just looking for a solution I may have overlooked. Thanks!

if its the bolt coming back out you can try to use loctite to keep the bolt in there. but i think that stuff is really strong so it might be hard to remove if you have to

Okay, so one of the nuts stripped out so now its loud as he!!
My dads pissed and it all "see i told you not to get those, but of course you never listen to me"
So should I just get new nuts, or put the ld manifold n and forget about it. Its just expensive to get Midas to put it on/off

This is so frustrating....it seems like no one else has had this stupid problem. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WTF

putty and locktight wont work at the header. The patch kits are only for mufflers where the temperatures are much lower. The heat at the header will fry the patch. You need a new gasket.
