Default Exhaust recommendations for 05 Accord V6 6sp?

Hello there,

I have a 2005 V6 Accord 6sp that is itching for a better exhaust than OEM. Anybody have experience that could throw some suggestions my way?

She is mostly stock save a Cold Air Intake and real Xenon HID lights.

I am interested in both full cat-back systems and custom jobs. MiG and TiG welding comes easy to me so I am not opposed to making my own systems. Any particular muffler preferences sit well with anyone? My ideas have a blank canvas, so send me info.

Full disclosure: I am a Master Acura & Honda Technician specializing in diagnosis of electrical issues in all areas of vehicle systems. I also specialize in automatic transmission diagnosis and replacement. Due to the Acura trans campaign in the TL, CL, and MDX lines, I replaced over 300 transmissions in only a couple of years. I was not the only one, so all the guys got REALLY familiar with those damned trannies.

I only put this here because I am new and have to fill out my profile. That being said, I am putting my knowledge out there if anyone needs it. Got any questions? Contact me and I will see what I can do.

Last bit: This is my first thread. If I have stepped lines, my apologies. please let me know my mistakes so I will not repeat them. Thanks.

If you can weld I would buy the pre bent pipe and do it yourself. Much cheaper and you will get the same performance. I recommend Flowmaster 40 series muffler if you don't want the fart can sound. I can't seem to find the website that every one recommends for the pre bent pipes. When I do I will shoot you the link.,

On another not glad to see a auto trans specialist on the forums. We need one b/c we have tons and tons of auto trans probs. You should know that being a Honda trans tech.

As for you poll...my fav color is not listed. It's the OEM gold/tan w/e you wanna call it on my 93 accord

Thanks for the info on the pre bent pipes. I will check into that.

As far as the auto trans issues go, I may start a thread highlighting the areas I specialize in. Replacement is the most common repair in the dealer so I very rarely opened them up. But trouble codes and diagnosing issues are areas we [all the techs at my dealer] got familiar with.
