Default namebrand intake vs nobrand

first things first.. i just got my first car so im new to car parts etc.

i'm interested in upgrading my car's performance and when browsing different intakes on ebay, cai and sri range from $10 to $200

injen and aem are the highest while individual vendors are the cheapest

is there a big difference between name brands and non name brands? (in many cases name brands aren't different at all and vice-versa)

any opinion is good. thanks

a good name brand like AEM, Injen, K&N or Fujita is always going to be more reliable than a no-brand intake.
They go through hours and hundreds(at least) of dollars of research to come up with something to yield the most power while still keeping the car functional.

Get a cheap intake. All that matters is the filter. Get either a AEM or K&N.

He means you can get a cheap intake & use that tube. A tube is a tube is a tube.

But get a good filter to replace the cheap one. Way cheaper than $150 when you're just buying the filter to fit your cheap tube.

Once you have the cheap tube, measure the diameter where the filter needs to clamp on. Then measure how much space you have (diameter and length) & check out K&N or other brands catalogs for sizes of JUST filters.
