Hey, I'm new to tuning cars and a friend is helping me find out what to buy and install the parts. Anyway, he told me to go with the exhaust system first, so I did some searching on eBay. I came across a JDM SS Catback exhaust system for $94.88 + $100.00 shipping. It's imported from Japan. I'd like to know what you guys think about the JDM SS Catback system. Is that the way to go, or could that be cheating me and ripping me off? What system would you guys recommend? I don't want anything loud. I prefer something with a deep sound and a silencer too if possible. I'd like it to also be able to boost my HP by around 15 HP if possible too. Also, I don't want to spend too much money either. What would you guys recommend for me with a stock 97 Accord LX 4 cylinder sedan? Thanks in advance.

 

Those JDM are the bottom of the line... It's not worth buying those when you can get a tsudo for $80 more... but don't be cheap on an exhaust... on a ram maybe, headers maybe, but not the exhaust...

 

Hey thanks for letting me know that. Tell me, what's a tsudo, and where can I order one besides eBay (if they have them)? Also, what are the specs on them?

 

I would go with OBX as they have great quality products. If I were you I would install both the exhaust and headers @ the same time. Much easier. I've got the exact same car, I have the Apexi WS2 exhaust which is expensive, non ricey, and sounds nice at WOT.

apexis sound nice but so do magnaflows i found mine on ebay for 375 including shipping. the only diff between the two exhausts is sound. ive found that apexi comes to have just a lil higher sounding sound. also the piping on the magnaflow is 2.25" piping and took me about 30 min to put on but i would agree with 19accord97 buy the header and the exhaust at the same time. you will reuse the old cat to so if you want a better flow get a hi-flow cat or somethin else.... the catalytic is not my expertice so i dont know. o ya here is a clip of mine with the aem sri intakeS.S. headerand magnaflow exhaust
