Off brand cold air intake (Pros and Cons)

oh yeah- youre the 'stock is better' guy :P
The set up I have now is picking up cold air directly rather than from a hot spot under the hood. Stock vs aftermarket- its all about applications.

Yup, my car is stock and it doesn't give me any "scrap" either.
While I'm not saying they don't exist, I've never seen a recent Honda that had its main intake located in a "hot spot under the hood." My Accord picks up its air from above the front brace just behind the grill.

Application, application. Especially if you have an aftermarket header. Even heatwrapped. I pick up some high temps around the spot where the stock airbox would suck in air. But the cars are designed for that initially. Just with a cooler hood and stock manifold/heat shield. Im talking about the 5th gens though.
I kinda like getting crap from my car. Gives me a chance to fix something cuz Hondas never really go. Turns out it was the ignition coil btw. My car runs amazing now. Fuel efficiency and throttle response are great.
Im off and looking for new projects now.
